Fort Campbell Army Base in Hokinsville, KY Kentucky Military Bases

 

Home to the 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell’s 105,068 acre United States Army installation is positioned in two states. It sits in southwestern Kentucky and north central Tennessee and takes in four counties. The Chief mission of Fort Campbell is to further develop the combat expertise of the 101st Airborne Division and the non-divisional troops stationed at the base, which is done by way of training, mobilization and placement.

 

The post was named after BG William Bowen Campbell, whom was the final Whig Governor of Tennessee. Each year, more than 8,000 soldiers attend the 60 Air Assault classes that the base conducts. The Fort Campbell post offers shopping, chapels, banks, postal service, gas stations, restaurants, campgrounds, five swimming pools and much more.

Fort Campbell Housing

The base does not accept advance housing applications and requires all soldiers to apply in person at the Fort Campbell Family Housing Office. Military members who will have family members living with them may apply for residency. All personnel E1 and above with eligible family members may occupy military Family housing at Fort Campbell. There are 4,000 homes on the post that provide housing for active military members and their families. Fort Campbell Family Housing offers two to four bedroom housing and does have a waiting list.

Temporary Lodging

There are four Army lodging facilities at Fort Campbell that offer a total of 413 rooms; they include Turner Army Lodging, Roy L. Richardson Army Lodging, George B. Turner Army Lodging and Roy L. Richardson Army Lodging. Reservations should be made at least 14 days in advance.

    Limited fully equipped Kitchenette rooms available

    Limited pet rooms available

    Beverage, vending and ice machines

 

Soldiers that are ranked E4 and below (unaccompanied or without dependents) must stay at the Fort Campbell Replacement Detachment.

Child Care

There are two child care centers on the Fort Campbell post that offer services for children 6 weeks through 6 years of age, along with a preschool program. The cost is based on family income and enrollment involves submitting a form registration with emergency contact, shot records, enrollment fee and an up-to-date LES .In addition, Family Child Care (FCC) presents a childcare program for children ages 4 weeks to 12 years. All child care centers at the Fort Campbell post have a waiting list.

Fort Campbell Schools

The Domestic Dependent Elementary School System is located on the Fort Campbell post for the children of the military members residing there. The base school system consists of two middle schools and one high school. There are also two off post school systems that serve the children living on base; Christian County and Tennessee-Clarksville Montgomery. Private and home schooling is equally available in the area.

Medical Care

All active duty military and retired military, along with family members, are designated to family and primary clinics. It is one of the major hospitals in the area and it provides service on a priority first basis in this order; active duty military, family members of active duty, retired military and family members of retired military. The base provides on base dental care for active military members stationed at Fort Campbell.
